Who this service is for?
You are a patient
You order your report yourself, without going through a clinic or a hospital. No referral is needed. Your scan can come from any facility, public or private, in the UK or abroad.
Patients typically use this service when they:
- are waiting for a report or a specialist appointment and want to understand their scan sooner,
- have received a report that raises questions,
- are preparing for a consultation before planned surgery,
- have a scan on a disc with no report attached to it.
What is a radiology second opinion and how does it work?
A radiology second opinion is a professional review of your MRI or CT scan performed after the original report has been issued. The radiologist reviews your images again, analyses the visible structures and prepares a new report based on current standards of diagnostic radiology.
During this process, your images, medical history and any previous reports are taken into account. This allows the specialist to provide a consistent and clinically useful opinion on your case.
Your scan is reviewed independently and from a fresh perspective. The radiologist assesses the images without automatically adopting the conclusions of the earlier report. An independent review can confirm the original diagnosis, refine it, or identify areas that need further consultation.
What your report contains?
You receive a PDF document signed with a qualified electronic signature, which you can share with your treating doctor.
Your report includes:
- a complete description of the images, in which every visible structure is assessed and documented,
- the characteristics of any findings: location, size, morphology and signal characteristics,
- an independent interpretation with the key conclusions,
- possible diagnoses prioritised according to their likelihood,
- possible next diagnostic steps, where these are supported by the imaging.
The report combines detailed radiological analysis with language you can follow. It stays clinically useful to your doctor and remains readable for someone without a medical background.
A radiology report is not a diagnosis and does not replace a medical consultation. Decisions about your treatment are made by your treating doctor, who interprets the report in the context of your full clinical picture.
When is a second opinion useful?
A second opinion is not always necessary, but in many situations it becomes an important step in understanding your medical condition.
It is especially relevant when the results influence key decisions regarding your treatment plan or when your current diagnosis needs to be confirmed.
Patients often seek a second opinion when uncertainty appears. This may be related to unclear findings, differences between doctors, or the need to better understand the direction of further diagnosis and treatment.
In practice, a radiology second opinion is frequently requested when:
- your report is difficult to interpret or raises doubts,
- you want to confirm or question a previous diagnosis,
- surgery or specialist treatment is being considered,
- symptoms do not match the imaging findings,
- further diagnostic steps need to be planned carefully.
- the case is complex and would benefit from review by a radiologist working in that specific area of imaging.
In these situations, an additional expert review can help organise information and support the next medical decisions. An additional review may help identify subtle findings that are not immediately apparent, and can clarify discrepancies between earlier reports.
Your scan is reviewed by a radiologist, not an algorithm
Every scan is reviewed by a board-certified radiologist in active clinical practice, with experience in CT and MRI interpretation. We do not use automatically generated diagnostic reports.
Your scan is assigned to a radiologist who specialises in the relevant area of imaging. Brain and spine studies are reviewed by neuroradiologists, joint imaging by musculoskeletal radiologists.
Reports are prepared under a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015, and information security is certified to ISO 27001:2022.
Why choose Eurodiagnosis?
Medical imaging requires precision, experience and attention to detail. MRI and CT scans contain complex data, and their correct interpretation directly affects diagnosis and treatment decisions.
At Eurodiagnosis, your second opinion is prepared by radiologists with extensive clinical experience. Each case is reviewed individually, with consideration of your medical context and previous documentation.
We provide radiology second opinions for a wide range of examinations, including MRI and CT scans of different anatomical areas. The reports are structured and clear, written to be understood by you and to remain clinically useful to your doctor.
The entire process is carried out online, which means you can get access to an expert review without the need for an in person visit. This makes the service more accessible and convenient for patients who need timely support.
We also ensure that your data is handled securely. All files are transferred and stored using protected systems that meet current standards for medical data protection.
Second opinion – what body areas do we review?
We provide second opinions for many types of MRI and CT scans across different areas of the body.
The most commonly requested reports include Spine MRI Second Opinion, Knee MRI Second Opinion and Chest CT Second Opinion. These examinations are frequently used in diagnosis and often require precise evaluation.
In addition to these, we also review scans of the head, abdomen, joints, breast and internal organs. Each second opinion is adapted to your case, your medical history and the clinical question that needs to be addressed.
How does the online second opinion process work?
- Choose the type of scan and the body area you need reported.
- Complete a short form with your contact details and a brief medical history.
- Pay for your order and receive clear instructions on how to send your images.
- Send your scan online in DICOM format. There is no appointment and nothing to post.
- Receive a notification with instructions on how to access your report, then share it with your doctor.
No referral is required. Your scan can come from any facility, provided the images are complete and diagnostic, and no older than three months.
If you are unsure how to export your scan from a disc or a hospital portal, our team will walk you through it.
Turnaround time
Standard turnaround is up to 5 working days from the moment your images are received. Turnaround time is approximate and may change depending on the diagnosis, case complexity, and the quality and type of images submitted.
Radiology Second Opinion Cost
The cost of a radiologist’s opinion depends on the scope of the review and any additional services included in the process.
At Eurodiagnosis, the standard price for a radiology second opinion is 400 PLN for one MRI or CT scan.
If needed, the service can be extended with additional elements such as report translation into another language or comparison with a previous examination. These options provide additional clinical context and can be useful in long term monitoring or international consultations.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging – Safe and Precise Diagnostics
In our facilities, we perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which allows for accurate assessment of internal organs and soft tissues without the use of X-ray radiation. This is a modern and safe diagnostic method, suitable also for children, elderly patients, and those requiring regular monitoring.
We conduct MRI scans of the head, spine, joints, heart, abdominal cavity, and pelvis, as well as examinations covering multiple body regions depending on medical indications. The examination can be performed without contrast or with the use of a safe gadolinium-based contrast agent.
Our diagnostics are carried out in comfortable conditions, using precise equipment and with minimal waiting times. Results are delivered as a report prepared by an experienced radiologist.
